I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I know I am a little late, since it is technically Tuesday, but I missed posting yesterday…. so we need to catch up! Saturday morning, I left bright and early for a quick trip to Chicago with my best friend and didn’t get in until super late Sunday night.
It was hands down one of the best mini trips of my life. We had such a good time and everything flowed just perfectly. We got really lucky – even with the terrible weather. Aka – rainy and cold (lol). I think the reason the trip was so great was because I went into it with zero expectations. Sometimes, I think when traveling or with anything in life, I build these pictures in my head of what it will be like. Then when reality doesn’t meet my expectations, it’s hard for me to get over it. This is something I am really working on and is why I made such a big deal to go into Chicago with no expectations at all!
When we went to Paris a few weeks ago, I had very high expectations. We were going to do this, and then we’d go to that, then we would sit outside on a warm patio with wine in hand. When it reality, we were dodging the rain 75% of the time. I’m not going to get into it because Paris was and always will be absolutely amazing, but I was definitely bummed about the weather. When I started packing for the trip, I knew it would be chilly, so this red sweater dress was a must! In this post, I told you all how red was a huge trend this season, so a red statement outfit was at the top of my list! Since I am very petite, I was able to wear this red sweater dress with ease, but towards the end of the day when the temperatures dropped, I paired it with jeans and booties and the outfit turned out just as cute! Since the temps here in Houston aren’t crazy cold, it will be easy to re-wear this exact outfit here during the holidays. Maybe with black over-the-knee booties by chance?
I’m into it.
