It’s mid September people
Which means it’s time to start making slight changes in your wardrobe for the season! Personally, pumped would be an understatement of how excited I am for the fall. I have always loved my fall & winter wardrobe more than spring & summer. I just feel more put together when I am wearing different layers and wearing darker shades. Since it’s not as cool in Houston as I would like it to be, below are a few tips I have to start transitioning into fall, without dying of heat!
BERRY LIPSTICK
Switching lipstick shades is probably the easiest & the cheapest way to transition your look into fall over night. Skip the corals & the almost white light pinks & instead, pick a warmer color. This one small step will make the biggest difference.
OPEN TOE BOOTIE
For anyone who lives in Texas, we all know that it doesn’t start really getting cold until January. Yeah, we will have some frigid days, but I also remember wearing shorts during Christmas one year because it was so hot. This is why open toe booties are perfect. They give you the fall look you are going for, with out having to suffocate your feet with thick socks and boots.
Dark PURSE
For the fall, I usually stray away from the usual white // blush purses & instead steer closer to burgundy, grays & black. Just like your lipstick, this is one small change that will instantly switch up your whole look.
Army (MUTED SAGE) Green
Army Green screams fall, it always has & always will. This is such a versatile color. There are a million dresses, jackets, vest & pants this color. So if it’s still warm where you are, put on a army green dress like I did here, or when it starts getting cooler, add a jacket over a tank and fitted jeans.
Flannel
Flannels, duhhhh. I love flannels shirts. I could sleep in them & I would wear them everyday if I could. I like them because you can wear them when you’re chilly or wrap them around your waist when you get a little warm. Either way, you’ll still be just as stylish.
SUEDE
Personally, I feel like suede clothes are a hit or miss. Either way, suede is super in this fall, so I wanted to include it. I was a little hesitant, maybe because I find the fabric stiff? Who knows, but I have actually found some pieces that I love & am excited to try!
Wool Floppy Hat
I love to wear hats in the summer. They make me fancy, if that makes any sense ha. I know that sounds silly, but I just do! Well, I believe that wearing hats in the fall can do the same thing! Just switch out your floppy straw hat you’d wear to the beach, to a wool one that you can wear to the park. I also love wool hats because they come in so many fun fall colors!
