(A little Flash Back Friday action for ya ^^^)
Hello from Vegas!
It’s my first time here, so I am super excited! Colton’s family usually does this trip during Thanksgiving, but, we are here for his birthday instead!
It’s a known fact I that always treat Colton’s birthday like it’s a holiday. Like I go allllllll out. It’s ridiculous – ha, it’s just that I love celebrating birthdays. Not just Colton’s, all birthdays. I just like making my friends feel really special on their special day. For Colton’s, I usually plan out the whole day to make sure it’s perfect. I’ll surprise him with gifts, cards, notes, or treats throughout the day to keep him excited & guessing what’s coming next.
I should get a best gf of the year award for this!
Lol! The truth is though, I just like to see him excited. But this year, because we are here in Vegas, he’s already excited & happy.
Aka – pressure off of me!
So while I don’t have the pressure of making his day perfect, I still have the pressure of an awesome gift! Everything below are either presents I have gotten in the past, that he’s loved, or things that I know he would like in the future! Some are a little pricey, but most will be perfect for if you’re on a budget!
Lulu Lemond Kung Fu Pants
Colton loves sweat pants. When we first started dating, he had this one pair that he’d had since high school and they were sooo gross. Like they had permanent stains on on them and they forever smelled like sweat. He loved them, but they still make me cringe thinking about them. So, one year for his birthday, one of the things I got him were these really nice sweat pants from Lululemon. This way, he could still be comfortable, but in a more stylish way, and not so much a smelly way. He loveeed them & still wears them all the time to this day & has boughten more than one pair for himself!
Whisky & Whisky Glasses
Nice whisky + whisky glasses are the perfect gift birthday gift for your boyfriend! If you are on a budget, I understand why you’re thinking that a case of beer will suffice, but, doing that really requires zero effort. And you want to show effort on his birthday! If you buy him a nice bottle of liquor, along with the appropriate drinking glasses for them associated with them, he will immediately feel sophisticated. You may not think that its a big deal, but trust me it is!
Burberry Watch
This is a gift I’ve really splurged on for him because I think that every guy should have a nice day-day watch. Before I bought this for him, he already had a really nice watch that his grandparents had given him, but, he always felt weird wearing it on a day-to-day basis. This is another great option!
Baking
This is the easiest, and cheapest thing that you could do! Colton loves red velvet cupcakes, so it’s always a no brainer for me when deciding what to make him. I will either make him something, or buy them from his favorite bakery. Then I always surprise him with them (even though he knows it’s coming!). I would either show up in the library with them for him, or I would tell him to come over & when he would walk in, they would be be sitting there for him with a note. It’s just a really simple way to make them feel special. In the picture above, I had make a red velvet cake from scratch for a little surprise party we through him for his 21st! When he walked in, the candles were already lit and his friends there ready to celebrate!
Video Games
For anyone who knows me, I loathe video games, but Colton loves them. As do most boys. By buying your guy a video game you know he wants, you’ll earn some major brownie points, all while making your guy super happy! This exact game, I know is on Colton wish list for this year, so we will see if he gets it! Also, Colton says to make sure for what ever game you get for your beaux, make sure you get it for XBOX ONE. Whatever that means.
