For those of you who don’t know, my dog Bentley is the center of my life. I got him when I was a Freshman at Baylor, and he lived with my Dad until I was able to move out of the dorms. He is a four-year-old Golden Retriever, and he fills my heart with joy every single day. It’s honestly super creepy how obsessed with him I am, but I can’t help that I love him so much! He is a super mellow dog, but with the heart and playful side of a puppy.
Since Bentley is definitely my little prince, that makes my apartment his palace. Although, that doesn’t exactly mean I want it to look like Petco threw up all over my home!
Because lets be real here, most of pet accessories can be sort of… how do I put this politely…. Tacky? Gaudy? You know what I mean.
Any who, I have worked really hard at making sure his stuff matches with the rest of the apartment, as well as my style. Thanks to Marshall’s, accomplishing this has been a breeze. They have the best pet section in their home decor area, that has the cutest pet accessories.
Below are just a few tips you could easily copy for your home!
Having a cute treat jar is literally one of the simplest things you can do. It’s not cute to have large bags of pet treats sitting on your counter, nor in your pantry. This super simple treats jar is an easy way to hide your pets snacks. I keep this on the counter super close to the door so that it’s easily accessible after coming back from walks.
Using a key or jacket hook to hold your leases is another really simple addition. Leashes aren’t cute, but this gold hook makes it not look too terrible.
Okay, this toy basket is my favorite of them all! Especially because it’s so cute when Bentley goes through it, to particularly choose his toy of choice. I like it because I don’t want toys all over the living room + it’s easily accessible for him.
A stylish food bowl is a must. I love this one! The finishings on it literally make it look like it was mean’t for my apartment. I like that it’s higher up for him, since he is a bigger dog, and they drawer on it makes it super convenient to store extra treats.
Also, the dog picture on the wall you can get here, from Z Gallerie! It’s a perfect addition to any pet owners home.
If you haven’t noticed, I am all about hiding his stuff. On the right, is the container that holds his food. It keeps the smell out & keeps the hall closet from smelling like dog food.
The the basket next to it on the left hold all of his extra stuff like shampoo/ medicines/ dog bones/ bandanas & etc. Keeping everything neatly stored away 🙂 While I was in school, I had a random cardboard box that was used for the same purpose & I hated. So, when I moved into my new home, I made sure to get a real basket that was more equipped to my style.
