If you have not been to the new River Oaks District, be prepared to be in complete and total awe when you finally do.
It’s beautiful.
What was supposed to be a quick shoot, turned into a full afternoon and evening. Which made me love the new district even more.
The ROD is located off of Westheimer, right before Highland Village & is the epitome of luxury.
The new district will be home to many high-end retailers, some of the most amazing restaurants, the iPic movie theatre, Equinox (a high end gym), and luxury apartments.
It’s pretty much the new & improved Rodeo Drive.
No joke, I could walk around here all day and be perfectly happy.
Like I said, beautiful. While the ROD has officially been open for a few weeks, some of the retailers & most of the restaurants have not officially opened.
Here is a full list of all of the stores.
I’m the most anxious about COS opening, which is a store that is a step above H&M. As well as Planet Blue, which had their grand opening Wednesday night. It’s like having a Nasty Gal Store mixed with Revolve Clothing down the street from me. #dreamcometrue
Colton is most excited about Bonobos, which is his favorite store!
We were able to talk to one of the developers while we were there, and let me tell you, this is going be quite the spot when it opens. He told us all about the new restaurants the are putting in, as well as the rest of the stores and I was like a puppy begging for more information.
One of the stars of the district is indeed, the IPic Movie Theatre. It’s the epitome of dinner and a movie. But with style of course! The seats are leather recliners, set with a pillow and a blanket for your comfort. Their servers, or “ninjas” as they’ve been coined, are at your becking call to bring you food & drinks from their 5 star restaurant, The Tuck Room.
We didn’t get a chance to eat there, but we did sit at the bar!
&&& I mean, how pretty is that cocktail?
After checking out iPic, we made our way to Planet Blue. I knew that the Planet Blue grand opening was Wednesday evening, but had completely forgotten, so I’m really glad we went to the district that day and were able to catch it!
Just when I didn’t think the ROD could be any better, when we walked outside, it was dark.
Aka -The ROD is even more strikingly beautiful at night.
Craving for more? Here are the 14 things you probably didn’t know about the district.
So, are you as pumped as I am for the rest of the stores to open?? The district will be fully opened in January!
Have a great weekend!
xo,
Lauren
