I mentioned to you guys last week that I am more of a “homemade gift” kind of person when in comes to Valentine’s Day.
I believe that Valentine’s day gifts should be more from the heart instead of the pocket…. but that’s just me!
I started making these “Valentine’s Day Baskets” for Colton our very first Valentine’s. We had only been dating a few months and I didn’t want to go broke on a gift, but I still wanted to go all out! Plus I was excited because it was my first real Valentine’s Day.
At that time, I used a hamper bag lol and filled it with everything that he loved, plus a little more. In it had the biggest Fiji water I could find (he loved fiji water at the time), his favorite cupcakes (red velvet), fruit rollups, Crown whisky, this picture frame of us, this teddy bear and a sweet card. I probably added in a little more but I can’t remember now.
I think in total I spent $50 though and he loved it! Actually, he loved it so much that the next year, he made me a basket of my own. Since then it’s become a little tradition!
It’s exciting not only to receive, but to give as well! It’s also fun looking at all the thoughtful little gifts.
So if you like this idea, here is what you will need.
(1) Any type of basket
(2) Their favorite treat
(3) Something they use everyday (Ex: XL Fiji water, favorite face wash or snack)
(4) Sweet picture + frame
(5) A little unexpected gift (Ex: whisky or cologne)
(6) A sweet note letting them know how much you appreciate them!
Do you guys have any favorite Valentine’s traditions????
