Oh Friday, we meet again!
While I normally say how long of a week it has been and how ready for the weekend I am, this week hasn’t been too bad! Work was busy but not over-baring, and I didn’t have a ridiculous amount of events or commitments. Instead, it was just the right amount of everything!
Since the Kentucky Derby is this weekend, I thought I’d give you a little Derby Day Outfit Inspo. While I haven’t been to the Kentucky Derby myself, it is definitely on the top of my bucket list! When I was in school, there was always an opportunity to dress up, so at least that’s one part I’ve been able to participate in.
If you’re in Houston, there’s a few Derby events you can take part in! There is one at The Sam Houston Race Park, and then there is also a Derby Party at Julep off of Washington! I’m not sure if I’ll be taking part in them because I really want to go to the Flea Style Market, but we will see! If I do go, I’ll probably wear this dress.
Literally, dressing for the Derby is so easy. Just grab a super cute spring inspired dress, a classic derby hat, a cute pair of pumps + a clutch and wah-lah you’re ready! My only advice is to not get a hat that is so big that you literally can’t see. I wore a huge hat to my sorority formal senior year (it was Derby themed!), and it was the biggest pain in the rear.
