As you guys know, running is my absolute favorite form of fitness! Yes I train, yes I do BBG and yes I partake in various form of fitness classes like pilates and spin, but there is nothing quite like running. As strange as it is to say, running makes me feel free and it makes me feel strong. I feel more like myself when I run. When I first started running, I could barely run a mile. I would walk/run until I hit my mile mark and each week, I would push myself a just a little bit farther. Now that running is part of my weekly routine, I honestly cannot imagine my life without it!
10 Reasons To Run
Run for your mind. To give you clarity and peace.
When I am feeling anxious, unsure or stressed, running is always my saving grace.
Run for yourself.
It’s just you and the road. The one part of your day that is fully yours.
To listen to your new playlist and get lost in your music.
After creating a new playlist, there is nothing I love more than blaring it on a run and getting lost in my music.
To enjoy the outdoors.
Most of us are in our offices majority of our day and never step outside. Take the time to breath in the fresh air and enjoy your surroundings.
Run to be sore.
There is something empowering about being sore. It’s the payoff of knowing that you did something good for your body.
To challenge yourself.
I have never been an overly competitive person, but I am competitive with myself. I love tracking my runs and pushing myself a little bit farther each time. It’s a rush of adrenaline knowing I beat my previous time or went farther than I ever have before.
Because it’s essentially free.
The road won’t cost you a membership. Just your time.
Run to be healthier
Run to maintain a healthy weight. Run for your bones and run for your heart.
To sleep better.
After a long run, I always sleep my best that night. It wears me out but in the best way.
To be happier
Have you ever heard of a runners high? Well it’s a real thing! The endorphins you release on a long run will make you think you can conquer the world.
Recently, for all of my long runs and training, my adidas UltraBoostsX have been my absolute saving grace! My love for these shoes are so real! Never in my life have I tried on a pair of sneakers as comfortable as these. The support is amazing. Usually, when I buy sneakers for running and training, I almost always have to buy inserts to give me support, but not with the adidas UltraBoostsX. They have so much support it’s unreal. When I first tried them on, I literally started bouncing up and down and running in circles around my kitchen/living room. Colton just sat there looking at me like I was crazy! Honestly though, I couldn’t help it! I had never tried on a shoe so comfortable. They have an adaptive arch that wraps around the arch of your foot which really gives you that extra support. I immediately had to change my clothes and hit the road to try them out for myself.
They are more like putting on a sock as compared to putting on normal running shoes and really hug your feet in all of the right places. I also oddly really like the shoes laces (lol). I know that’s a strange observation…. but if you run, then this will make sense to you. They are super easy to tie, just long enough, and will not come untied your entire run!
Another thing that helps me get the most out of my runs are wearing the right gear! This top is my absolute new favorite! The cut is already my favorite, but the fabric is also so light and so comfortable. It’s not suffocating in the least bit. You can check out all of adidas’s latest gear here!
