My Cabo Bachelorette Party

Hi guys, I am so excited for today’s post!

As you guys all know, last week I had my Bachelorette Party in Cabo and it was hands down the most fun weekend of my life. I know that seems a little cliche to say, but I am so serious when I say I have never had a more fun weekend. I have never felt more loved or more thankful for my friends.

For what started out as a stressful week with having to change all of our plans from Playa del Carmen to Cabo three days before our trip, everything just kind of fell into place and worked out perfectly.

We danced a lot, we drank a lot of tequila (shout out to Don Julio 1942) and made a million memories to last a lifetime.

I’m not going to lie, writing this post gave me all the feels, so I hope you guys enjoy it!

We arrived in Cabo around 11:30 and were ready to party!

One thing I love about Cabo is the moment you get out of baggage claim there is a bar outside, so it is a tradition to grab a Pacifico before hitting the road.

Cabo is about a 45-minute drive from the airport so we arranged a transportation service to pick us up and take us to the hotel.

Pro-tip: On the way to the hotel you will pass a Walmart, make sure your transportation service stops there! You can pick up all the alcohol, snacks and what ever else you may need there.

We got to the hotel around 1:00 and grabbed lunch (a vast amount of ceviche, guac and skinny margaritas) by the pool until our room was ready. Once it was ready, we unpacked, changed into our swimsuits, I stepped out to go to the concierge so the girls could decorate the room.

My girls did the best job in decorating the room and my MOH had the cutest little bags for each girl filled with Burts Bees lotion, lip balm, sunscreen, temporary tattoos, and little snacks!

Then we popped a bottle of champagne and did a quick “cheers” to the weekend before heading down to the beach! Starting with Mango Deck since it was literally right next to our hotel.

When you go to Cabo, hands down, you have to go to Mango Deck at least once. It’s very spring break-y and can definitely be wild but you have to go and experience it at least once. Think contests all day long on the beach, large Mexican guys pouring tequila shots down your throat…. Like I said…. can get pretty wild. But it is all fun and games and since we were a large Bachelorette Party, we had a lot of drinks bought for us. We only went once, because there is so much more to do in Cabo than Mango deck (!!) but it was still a super fun way to kick off the weekend.

Afterwards, we all went upstairs and got ready for dinner at La Hacienda Beach Club. Our concierge at the hotel set this up for us and it was such a treat! It was the best dinner for the first night. It was about a block from our hotel and once we got there, a golf cart came to pick us up and take us to the beach. Once we got there, we passed the restaurant and walked down the steps to a private seating area on the beach. We were not expecting this!

Ya’ll, it was SO nice. It was literally our own little private area on the beach. We had skinny margs, lots of tequila shots, and ordered a bunch of appetizers to share as our meal. I can’t say enough good things about the food, the staff, and the location. We loved it.

After dinner, we headed downtown to dance the night away, which we did – until like 4:00 am! It was wild but seriously the most fun night of my life.

Despite basically staying up all night, we all surprisingly got up early and hung out in the hotel room reminiscing on the night, before heading out to brunch.

Once again, our hotel concierge hooked us up and we went to SUR for Brunch.

Ya’ll, this place was bougie and so me. All white decor, right on the beach with Bossanova music playing and green juice. I lived for this place. After having a round of green juice (because we needed it after the night before) we had a bottle of champagne and a round of mimosas with the most amazing brunch.

After brunch, we went to the pool for a little bit hang out before walking to the marina to go on our boat.

I told you all in this post how we ordered these swimsuits for the girls and it was a total fail. It actually still makes me super sad lol but that is what it is and that’s what I get for ordering from China!

Moral of the story – we should have bought these months in advance lol.

Anyways – after hanging by the pool we packed up our things to walk to the Marina for our boat ride.

In January we had a yacht and it was so awesome so I knew we needed to rent a boat again. When we had the yacht, there were like 16 of us and since there were only 8 of us this trip, we opted for a 4-hour sailboat ride instead.

We used Cabo Sails and they were so fun! The boat was so nice. It was four hours of sailing around Cabo with an open bar & lunch. They also stopped in a cove with crystal clear water so everyone could relax and swim.

If you are ever in Cabo, a boat excursion is an absolute must! I loved ours because it was just us girls and our captains were seriously so fun! We have done one every trip and it will honestly make your trip! We loved it!

That night, we had our all white night for dinner & dancing. I wasn’t really into making the girls all wear embarrassing matching outfits all weekend but we did do an all white night which I loved! We went to Edith’s for dinner which is a MUST while in Cabo (get a reservation in advance) then went out on the town once again for another night of dancing.

Edith’s is one of those famous restaurants in Cabo that everyone has to go to. It is really nice, the margaritas are strong and the food is amazing.

Saturday, once again we all surprising got up super early and relaxed at the hotel before heading out to breakfast. For as late as we kept staying out, I do not know how we kept waking up so early, but we did!

Anyways!

The moment we decided to switch our trip to Cabo, I knew I wanted to go to Flora Farms. So we made that reservation before we ever even booked our hotel!

Flora Farms was about a 25 minutes’ drive from our hotel but is so worth it. I don’t want to share too many photos because I am going to do a whole post on it but Flora Farms is an absolute must while in Cabo. It is an all organic farm-to-table restaurant with the most beautiful grounds, delicious food, and picturesque craft cocktails. Seriously, the whole property was an Instagrammer’s dream.

You could easily spend hours here, which we did!

After lunch we went back to our hotel to relax by the water. Our plan was to lay by the beach but it was super high tide that day so we opted for the pool instead. Which was totally fine since it was right on the beach anyway.

The pool ended up being a blast though because there were so many other Bachelor & Bachelorette parties there so we all ended up just hanging out in one big group. That’s one thing I didn’t realize but loved about Cabo. There were so many big Bachelor & Bachelorette parties that by the end of the trip everyone knew everyone. It was super cool.

That night, I’m not going to lie we were all struggling. I’m talking totally exhausted and dehydrated from all of the tequila. Seriously… I have never had so much tequila in my life. #donjulio1942

Anyways, so instead of going to The Office for dinner (which much like Mango Deck is a must in Cabo) we decided for a more quiet & intimate dinner at The Artichoke.

When we arrived, they brought us through the restaurant, outside and then through another room to our own private wine room. It was filled with mirrors, wine bottles and a large window looking out onto the patio. It was definitely our favorite dinner of the trip because it was so relaxed. We drank wine, talked about the trip and got super sentimental a few times. There were tears everywhere lol but it was such a sweet way to end our weekend.

After dinner, half the girls still had it in them to dance but I was not one of them – lol. So while all of the girls stayed downtown, my friend Laurel and I went to Bar Esquina right in front of our hotel to have wine and listen to their live band. It was seriously so nice and it gave me the opportunity to really soak in everything we had experienced throughout the weekend.

Sunday – no pictures lol, we packed up, grabbed smoothies from the coffee bar across the street and headed home.

I know I said this at the beginning of this post, but it was hands down the best weekend of my life. My Bridesmaids are just such amazing women and made the trip so special. How everything fell into place and worked out perfectly, I just could not have asked for a better weekend!

If you guys have any more questions on our trip, please do not hesitate to send me an email!

Below is all of the information on our trip!

CABO SAN LUCAS GUIDE

If you are planning a Bachelorette and are not sure where to go, I highly recommend Cabo. I didn’t know this, but it is a huge Bachelor / Bachelorette destination. So there is always a party and large groups of people wanting to have fun.

Aka – everyone wants to buy you a tequila shot.

Hotel: Casa Dorado

For our trip, we stayed at Casa Dorado in a two-bedroom suite, which included to rooms, two bathrooms, three balconies a kitchen and a living room. Honestly, I could not have picked a better layout for us. One bedroom had a king size bed where three of us stayed, another room had two queen beds where four girls stayed and then the living room had a pull out bed for another girl.

I loved all of us being together. It made getting ready and every morning so much more fun! If we would have all had separate rooms I think it would have made the trip feel super divided so I am thankful we were all together.

Restaurants

La Hacienda: For dinner on the beach

Edith’s: Authentic Mexican food – A Must in Cabo

Peacocks: Farm-to-table romantic restaurant for dinner. This was Colton and I’s favorite place a few years ago.

The Artichoke: Amazing Italian restaurant in Cabo. Very nice – surprisingly not expensive.

Sur: The bougiest & best brunch spot. Think green juice, mimosas and the prettiest waffles you have ever seen all while beach side.

Flora Farms: About a 30-minute drive from Cabo. Perfect for lunch on the most picturesque property. All farm-to-table, organic with lots to do and see.

The Office: If you are looking to party while having your dinner, then go to the office. Make sure you get a reservation to sit at a table on the beach. Note** The Office is not open from Mid August – November – this is the only reason we did not go!

Party

Mango Deck – Beach Bar/Club

Bar Esquina: If you are over the spring break feel, then this bar is for you. Think cocktails and live music.

El Squidro – 5 story night club downtown. An absolute must.

Nowhere Bar: Nightclub / Bar near marina. They love Bachelorette Parties and will most likely give you free bottle service.

Lauren

This is great and everything but you must be either very well off or your husband to be is very well off in order to secure a bachelorette party for all of your bridesmaids. Guess you’re only targeting a selective group of people who can afford to live within these means.

      Hi Emily!

I understand why you may think this, but not at all! I did not pay for the trip by any means, nor are my girls overly well off. I am the first out of my group of friends to get married and I think everyone was just really excited. They picked Mexico because they wanted it to be their one big trip of the summer. Also, everything in Cabo is surprisingly very cheap and it is very affordable to fly from Houston to Cabo.

My advice though is to always do something within your price range. Let the girls decide on the location, pick the budget and then go from there.

      Thank you for reading 🙂

      Best,
      Lauren

That sounds like very sound advice Lauren. I don’t mean to insinuate that there is anything wrong with living it up when the means are present but with people always posting up images, one really knows the truth behind those pictures. Thank you for delving a little further into those details. I really appreciate it!

Yes yes yes! I am so excited for this post! In Jan you went to Cabo and I knew I wanted to go with my girls for my bachelorette. I have 6 in total so I was wondering how it was going to work bc I didn’t want everyone to be in different rooms. I saw in your snap how it was SO big and got to view the beach in the balcony and I was like, ‘omg its perfect. that’s what I want!’. Some hotels don’t even let you have more than 2 ppl in a room which is annoying! I’ll def. be looking into this suite with my girls. YAY!

Hi Love! So honestly, they never checked or got onto us about having too many girls in the room. The master had a king so 3 of us slept on there. The couch in the living room pulled out into a bed I believe so one girl slept there and then the other room had two queen beds where four girls stayed!

And ya’ll didn’t have armbands or wristbands for the pool/beach area? Sorry! I’m in the process of booking my trip and literally want to do everything ya’ll did. We’re also going in August, but I want to put 5 girls in a 4 person room because I have 15, so 3 rooms, but online when booking if you select 2 people, it is a much better price to book although the room fits 4, but was fine to go around it just didn’t know about wristbands, staff, etc.

No, we didn’t!! I think it is because it’s not a all-inclusive resort. Honestly, they were soooooo chill and amazing. Most hotels in Cabo that have wristbands are for all-inclusive or if it is a crazy time period like Spring Break!

I do think five girls in a four-person room would be a lot…. unless the room had a couch. I know that’s probably what you don’t want to hear. Maybe they have a big suite for four people with a couch!

    Hi Lauren,

I really enjoyed reading your Cabo- Bachlorette story! I enjoyed it so much that I have actually decided to have my bachlorette in Cabo next year (2019) in May! I have 8 bridesmaids+ me so I would like to do something similar as you did.

Question- I love your yellow sandals from the first picture with your passport holder. Where did you get those? 🙂 I am sure as next year gets closer I might have more questions about Cabo.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Lauren,

I was so excited to read your post because my Bachelorette Party is in July this year and after finishing your post, I realized we had booked the same suite at the same hotel!! Thank you for all of the information you provided, it has been SO helpful given I am planning but have never been to Cabo.

I am wondering about Flora Farms: did you set up a shuttle or taxi to take you to and from? Did you have Casa Dorado set that up for you in advance or just winged it the day of? I know there are a few places within Flora Farms to eat at (I think?!). Which bar or restaurant was your reservation at? Is there a cover to get into Flora Farms or just what you pay at brunch?

Sorry for the 20 Questions! I just want to make sure I plan thoroughly so we are safe! (:

      Hi Love!

No worries, I am happy to answer them!

For Flora Farms, I recommend setting up a service. DO NOT TAKE A TAXI. That’s what we did (Casa Dorado set it up) and he screwed us so badly by charging us an unreal amount. What we should have done was hire the same shuttle service that picked us up from the airport instead.

Also, Flora Farms is one set restaurant. It has an ice cream market area and a fresh produce area along with a lot of little stores, but Flora Farms itself is one restaurant with an unreal cocktail menu. Also, there is no cover! Just what you pay for!

      Hope that helps 🙂
