This past weekend was one of the best weekends of my life. I know I said this after our engagement party…..my bachelorette party and basically everytime we have a wedding celebration…. but this weekend just once again made me feel so thankful and so loved by everyone around me. Both showers were absolutely stunning and I am forever grateful for everyone who took the time to celebrate Colton and I!
Since so many of you all are engaged and are having Bridal Showers of your own, I thought this was the perfect time to share with you exactly what to wear to your bridal shower.
This dress from above, I have been obsessed with for months! Actually, my friend Dede wore it to a Valentine’s Day event we went too, and the moment I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for one of my showers! I ended up wearing it to our shower on Sunday, hosted by Colton’s Mother’s sweet friends! It is so comfortable, flattering & cute! I also love that it is just a little bit modest, which is super important for a shower! Then Saturday, I wore this dress, which I will show more of next week!
Personally I was just as obsessed with both of them, even though they were very different. None-the-less, I still followed the same rules when picking them out online.
- Wear Something White. I know some people say to forget about white and to spice things up by wearing color, but I personally love wearing white! I love that it is traditional and classic which is 100% my style. Plus, you’re the bride so embrace it!
- Dress (somewhat) Modest. Remember that these events are not just you and your girlfriends and will instead be filled with your mom, aunts, mother-in-law and grandmothers. If you’re used to showing a lot of skin, that’s fine, but just keep your guests in mind and pick a more appropriate option.
- Dress for the Season. This is the number one rule for every occasion, but if your shower is going to be outside in the summer, do not wear long sleeve or thick fabric.
- Dress Comfortably. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, if your comfortable you’ll be confident and the best thing you can wear is confidence. Make sure it fits and it flattering on your body. You do not want it to be skin tight and uncomfortable the entire time.
What To Wear To Your Bridal Shower
From left to right
I love absolutely every single one of these picks! This dress and this dress you’ll notice are the two that I wore. This dress is identical to the one I wore to my engagement party. This dress is very expensive but is seriously so gorgeous, this dress is Milly and is on sale and this dress is a show stopper!
What do you guys think of these picks?
xo,
Lauren
