Why You Should Follow Bloggers

For the past few years, I have tried my hardest to develop some sort of immaculate morning routine. One where I wake up early, stretch, have a cup of tea, casually walk Bentley and get out the door in the perfect amount of time. While my morning routine is much more hectic and is nothing like that, one thing that I have developed is taking time to read. Every morning, I start my day by reading various online forums. Whether it’s the NY Times, The Daily Skimm, other Fashion Bloggers or etc., I like to get a vast array of different topics to read before starting my day.

Recently, I came across this heart wrenching article in regards to fashion bloggers. It was so skewed, I could hardly finish reading it. While I did understand some of the writers points, a vast majority of the article was very wrong. Long story short, she was tired of seeing so many bloggers on Instagram. Which I totally get. Bloggers she had followed and trusted she found were actually very untrustworthy and that all bloggers were starting to look alike. Which I also get

The truth is, this industry, just like every industry has its flaws. Depending on how many bloggers you follow, it can seem overwhelming and repetitive. Like I said before, I totally get that, trust me! But I also think that if you can find a blogger that you love and trust, then you have found gold. Because the truth is, while there are some untrustworthy, stereotypical and overrated bloggers, there are 100 more bloggers out there working every day to bring you new and authentic content.

So while you personally may have your own reasons for not following Bloggers, I am going to give you a few reasons why you should!

We take the time that you don’t have.  Most of you guys are new graduates with full time jobs. While you probably have impeccable style of your own (seriously, I creep you guys all the time on Instagram and ya’ll are so cool), you no longer have the time to search endlessly online looking for the perfect dress to wear to your sorority sister’s wedding. Your schedule is jam packed during the holidays, Christmas shopping is a nightmare and when the Nordstrom Sale goes live every summer, who honestly has the time to search through all of the items and find which ones are worth your time? We do! That’s what we are here for. To make your life easier and help you find items that you do not have the time to search hours for.

We give you all of the details: If something runs large or too small, if a sweater doesn’t look anything in real life like it does on the model, we will tell you. If earrings are too heavy, a purse looks cheap or if a certain pair of heels are unbearable to walk in, then we are your go-t0.

We’re someone to relate too: One of my favorite things about reading blogs is having the ability to relate to so many women across the country. Heck even the globe! I had the ability to meet a few readers while we were in Paris and it was so cool.  I love following blogs and keeping up with everyone’s lives. It’s crazy how emotionally invested you can get into someones life, someone you barely even know. Throughout the past few years, reading blogs have honestly gotten me through a lot of hard times. It was nice reading other girls stories and hearing that I was not the only person going through something. Sometimes when I am talking to Colton, I’ll say, “so my friend the other day…..” and he’ll stop me and say “wait, is this a real friend or is this a blogger you follow online?” I’ll tell him “A) rude, B) that’s not the point!“. Lol, it is so sad but it’s so true. It’s crazy how close you can feel to someone through the internet.

We’re an outlet: Before I started my blog, reading blogs was my daily outlet. While I appreciate my job and the industry now,  when I first graduated, I never thought I would be working in the industry that I am. Very quickly, reading blogs, gaining outfit inspiration, seeing cute home decor ideas and delicious healthy recipes made me eager to be creative myself.  Blogs quickly became my daily outlet from reality and until this day, I still religiously follow the girls that inspired me to start my blog in the first place.

We’re guides for Inspiration: I think a huge misconception about bloggers is that people think bloggers think we are the most fashionable people in the world.  That fashion just comes to us, and I’m not going to lie, a lot of times it does! But that does not mean we think we are the most fashionable people in the universe. I’ve never claimed that I am super fashionable. I just like to share how I would style certain pieces and one way I might style something may be totally different from the girl next to me. We gain inspiration from everywhere and from everyone. We are only here to show you how we personally styled a piece and what we paired it with. To set inspiration for you on the days you are not feeling super inspired.

We’re your extra set of eyes: If there is a certain pair of shoes you’re dying to have but are sold out, there’s a pretty good chance we are watching that exact same pair for you. That gorgeous cashmere sweater is on sale? You bet your bottoms we’ll let you know. We are constantly looking for sales / deals for our readers, because if we can help you save, then we have done our part!

Now I would love to know, who are some of your favorite bloggers??

  1. This look is stunning on you! Btw it does take a lot of time being a blogger/influencer! Yes, there may be a lot of us, and yes we may be doing “too much,” per say. But its all about the connection you have with the ones you follow that make the difference! Relationships are a huge factor when it comes to bloggers I have found. Great post!

      Hi Angel,
You are so sweet! Thank you:) You’re right, it takes a huge amount of time being a blogger/influencer. The work never stops but the relationships I have built and the satisfaction I get out of it makes up for everything.

I’m laughing at the “my friend” part! I do this to my fiancé all the time! I follow your instagran, twitter, snap, omg you name it.
I’ll tell him “my friend is on vacation right now and she’s in paris…look how pretty!” and he’s like ‘isn’t that the blogger with the dog?’ Shut up ok, she’s my friend whom I have yet to meet. lol (:
