How’s everyone loving this short week so far?? I know I am for sure! Since Thanksgiving is Thursday, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share a few photos from our Friendsgiving last week!  I wish we would have taken more of the whole group, but when you’re having a good time, you forget to snap photos sometimes.

What can I say? Lets just blame it on the wine lol..

Anyways! Colton and I cooked the turkey and then everyone brought a dish! If you need a easy Turkey recipe, Colton and I used this one and it turned out perfectly! Then this is the roaster we cooked our turkey in! There were about 14 of us there and it was the perfect number of people.

Seriously it was such good time and I loved seeing how into it everyone was. Like watching everyone be so proud of their dishes and being so into the whole evening, I loved every minute of it.

For the decor, I went super simple! Thankfully, I have stocked up on Fall Decor throughout the years, so I didn’t have to buy a lot. We borrowed table runners from my friends Momma, then bought an assortment of small pumpkins for, one flower arrangements and a lot of $4 greenery for the tablescape! Super simple but turned out super cute! Oh and we added in a few little candles I had laying around the apartment in between it all.  I know we could have probably gone a little fancier, but for hosting our first Friendsgiving, on a Thursday, I am pretty proud of ourselves!

If you are throwing a little Friendsgiving of your own, or if you are actually hosting Thanksgiving, here are my little tips to make it go simply and look effortless.

FRIENDSGIVING TIPS

  • The host cooks the turkey.
  • Send out Evites at least two weeks in advance.
  • Make an online Google Excel Doc. In this document, put together a menu and then let everyone fill in what they would like to bring! That way they can see who is bringing what and what has not been fulfilled yet!
  • Buy enough alcohol. Aka – buy enough wine! If you’re at the store buying some and you think you got enough, grab three more. Trust me on this one. Or even better, have everyone bring a bottle! This is what we should have done….but at least we know for next year!
  • Coordinate how many people will need to use the oven to heat up there dish.
  • Don’f forget serving utensils – whoops
  • Have pumpkin candles and a playlist going in the background to set the party mood when everyone arrives.
  • Skip the fine china and pick up the “nicer” plastic dishes. Even though they are plastic, they look fancy and are great because you can throw them away.
  • Same thing for the silverware. We picked up these gold plastic ones and they were a hit!
  • Print out place cards and set the table. This isn’t necessary, but it is fun and it was super simple! I used this free print and printed them out at home.
  • Splurge on fancy wine glasses. These are my favorites!

Lauren
