Wedding Registry Tips With Braun

Welcome Back Cuties!

Around this time last year, Colton and I started our wedding registry journey and I thought it was time that I share everything we learned with you.

Going into building our registry, I’m not going to lie, we felt totally clueless!! I mean, we had a ton of newlywed friends who gave us guidance, along with our parents, on what to register for, but we still felt pretty lost. Especially when it came to what we wanted to register for and what tradition told us to register for.

Now that we are almost 6 months past our original wedding date and have officially gone through the whole wedding registry thing, I would say we have a pretty good handle on this whole registry business.

I teamed up with Braun, featuring their PureMix Power Blender to bring you this post today!

Braun’s PureMix Power Blender is super chic with a modern glossy white and stainless design, features 1000 watts of pure power and three pre-set blending functions (smoothie, chop and ice crush) to make all your top blending needs simple and at the touch of a button.

Also, Braun is currently giving 15% off all blenders on their website from 4/29 – 5/12!!

Wedding Registry Tips

Timeout Your Registry Appropriately: You don’t want to do your registery too early and you don’t want to wait until the last minute either. You do, however, want to register early enough so that friends and family members that are extra excited about the engagement can send you gifts!

I recommend setting up your registry right before your wedding website goes live or at the same time, you send your Save the Dates to your guests.

Choose Multiple Locations: Since some of your guests might live in different areas of the city, state or country, you want to give them a variety of places to shop!

We chose three different locations and it was perfect! This gives a nice variety for everyone.

Register For Your Everyday Basics: Think everyday glassware, as opposed to the plastic cups from your favorite restaurant in college. You’ll also want to choose a nice silverware set, new towels and etc. Think about the everyday basics your parents have and then go from there.

Consider Your Lifestyle: Do you and your fiance´ like to cook and entertain? Or are you more of a Chinese take-out kind of couple? These are things to consider when registering. If you hate to cook, then why waste time on a huge stainless steel cooking set? Think about your lifestyle, as well as you and your fiance´life as a couple.

Pick Items That Fit Into Your Everyday Life: These are the items you really want to focus on because they are the items that you will use on a daily basis. For example, a nice set of towels, basic bakeware and in my case, a really nice blender. I make a green smoothie every single day and use my blender for a ton of baking recipes on a weekly basis.

We recently added a Braun PureMix Power Blender to our home and it has become a game changer! Like, I am so obsessed! As I mentioned above, the white is so chic (so it looks amazing on my counter) but it’s also lightweight, easy to use and clean. Whether you’re a green smoothie maker or more of margarita kinda of girl, a blender should 100% be on your registry list!

You can find your Braun PureMix Power Blender here through Bed Bath & Beyond.

Don’t be afraid to ask for more expensive priced items: This is a tip from Colton’s mom!Think of items such as a new vacuum, larger appliances, furniture or cooking set. It’s very common for guests to pitch in together for larger priced items and they are excited to give them to you!

Think About Your Current Storage Situation: While you think it’s a good idea to register for 15+ China Sets, do you actually have room for that in your current Newlywed apartment? I didn’t think so – lol. Register for a few pieces now and then purchase the rest with gift cards as time moves on.

Throw out the old school rules: Aka – don’t be afraid to ask for gift cards or things you actually want, as opposed to what your Grandmother says you’re supposed to register for. I love the idea of setting up some sort of honeymoon fund but when it comes to getting home items you actually need, I think that gift cards are the best. That way, you can buy the things you need throughout life as they come to you.

Do Your Final Registry Online: My advice is to go into the store, browse through the items you like, then go home to really think about it all and then finish your register from your laptop!

When Colton and I first went in to register, we definitely got a little scanner crazy in the store. Then when we went home and looked at everything we had scanned, we realized most of the pieces didn’t make any sense and had to completely redo it all.

Looking at your registry online gives you the opportunity to look at it all as a whole!

At the end of the day, you’re going to be so thankful for everything you received because it came from somebody who loves you.

Just remember to keep receipts, the boxes and do not feel obligated to keep something if there is something else you would rather have instead. Just be sure to send all of your thank you notes!!

**Cough ** Cough ** I’m talking to you Colton.

What are your biggest registry tips??

I would love to hear them!

xo,

Lauren
