Happy Thursday Babes!
I’m so excited to partner with Pantene to bring you this post today!
There is no doubt, that throughout my life, my hair has always been my “thing”. It has always been very easy to manage and requires little upkeep, which I am super grateful for! Yet, every few months, I am faced with the same recurring problem and that’s product buildup. You know that feeling in your hair, when you just can’t get it to “feel clean“? Even after washing it!? Well that’s what I’m talking about. It’s a mixture of oil, dirt and product buildup, stuck in your roots. You’re carrying around so much dirt and oil that regular shampooing isn’t getting it all out and if you’ve ever had this problem, then you know just how annoying it is.
Throughout the years, I’ve tried various DIY hair masks to help solve this problem. While these masks worked, they also took a long time and were generally pretty messy. Like I’ll just paint a picture by saying that sitting on the edge of my bathtub for 20 minutes, while egg yolks and honey soaked in my hair was never fun – lol.
So after years of having this problem, I finally asked my hair dresser, Chris, for a solution and he suggested I try a few detox shampoos. Add them into my routine, by using them once a week and that this would keep me from having this problem in the future! So I started trying a lot of different brands, but was never a huge fan of any of them until I tried the new Pantene Charcoal Collection Shampoo and Conditioner.
Literally a game changer.
The Charcoal Collection Shampoo has activated charcoal, antioxidants and pro-vitamin B5 in it which cleanses deep to remove buildup and leaves your hair feeling totally refreshed! Then the Charcoal Collection Conditioner soothes your strands while adding shine and volume back to your hair, which you were probably lacking from the previous dirt & build up.
When I first tried the collection, I was honestly shocked as to just how clean my hair felt afterwards!
I used it right before heading to Miami and I swear my hair felt so clean and great the whole time! At one point, my friend, Leah, asked me how on earth my hair still looked so clean on the second day of the trip. I literally had no answer for her, until I got home and realized I had used Pantene’s Charcoal Shampoo and Conditioner to wash my hair right before heading to the airport.
So to say I was sold this products abilities was an understatement.
So Why Activated Charcoal?
To keep it simple, activated charcoal attracts and draws out impurities. A shampoo and conditioner with activated charcoal detoxes your hair by attracting dirt, oil and product that has been building up in your scalp.
How Often Do I Use It?
I use it about once a week or whenever my hair is feeling lifeless and dull.
Do You Shampoo Again with Your Everyday Shampoo/Conditioner Ever?
Nope! I use it in place of my everyday shampoo & conditioner.
Is this product color safe?
Yes!
Where can I find it?
Anywhere they sell Pantene Products but right now, Target has a promotion where if you buy two Charcoal Collection products either online or in store, you’ll receive a $5 gift card!

I honestly never thought of a detoxifying shampoo!
I LIVE by my dry shampoo but I’m not blessed to only wash my hair twice a week. I have to wash it 4 times/every other day.
SO going to give this one a try at my local Target! Just in luck too, my current shampoo and conditioner is running low.

You’re going to love it!! Just remember though, this isn’t supposed to replace your normal shampoo. I just use it in place of my other shampoo and conditioner once a week. I wash my hair about every other day, but at least once a week I’ll use this Charcoal Collection as opposed to my regular. Hope that clears things up! xo, Lauren
