Happy Wednesday Babes!! We are halfway through the week!!
I’m excited to show you all a little bit of my NYFW experience! Sadly, since my phone was stolen, I only have a quarter of the pictures and content I wanted to share (for some reason none of my stuff backed up to my iCloud!!) but I was able to recover a few for you all!
Fashion Week this year was much longer and much more intense than last year. For those of you who remember, last year was my very first nyfw and I didn’t decide to go until the very last minute. I stayed with girls I had never met before, I had no idea what to expect and just showed up ready to try and put my best foot forward. While it was a huge learning experience, it was also terrifying.
This year though, I traveled with a good friend, had an idea of what to expect and felt much more comfortable in representing myself and my brand.
I traveled with Tayler from TaylerMallot.com, and for those of you who do not know Tayler, go follow her and check out her blog!! I love her classic, feminine style, and the fact that she has a heart of gold. I truly do not know what I would have done without her this week!
This may be shocking, but we did not go to one Fashion Show while we were there….. we had a few scheduled, but traffic was so bad this year, it was impossible to make it to everything and we put brand meetings and events in priority over any shows. Honestly, I think this is kind of the direction nyfw is going to start going in, especially for influencers because while shows are cool, this is a business and getting that one-on-one FaceTime with the people who are going to help grow your business is much more important than the shows.
Does that make sense? Anywho, let’s start the recap – shall we?!
Also, if you just want my restaurant list – scroll all the way to the bottom!
NYFW 2018 Recap
TUESDAY
Tuesday morning, we had a 7 am flight to NYC!
Tayler’s good family friends have a home in the Upper West side, so we decided to go up a few days earlier to stay with them, explore New York and get a few meetings out of the way.

After a late lunch, unpacking and getting a little bit of work out of the way, our amazing hosts took us to The Kimpton Hotel in Hells Kitchen for dinner at Print and then to their rooftop at The Press Lounge for drinks!!
Ironically enough, Colton and I went to this rooftop bar for drinks on my Birthday a few years ago, so I was so excited to go back!! If you’re heading to New York, then this rooftop bar is enough!
A quick little story, when Tay and I went to shoot these looks, we saw these little bistro table sets and thought they would be perfect to take a few photos at! As we were taking pictures, this guy walked up and asked if we wanted him to take a photo of the both of us. We kindly declined and he goes “Are you sure?? I mean you are on a movie set!!!”. We were like “whattttt???” and he goes “Yeah! Everything you see around here are props and all of those people are extras!” We were in shock and needless to say, let him take our photo – lol.
Only in NYC!;)

WEDNESDAY
The next day, we woke up early and went for a run at Central Park! The home we were staying at was only a block away, so we wanted to take advantage of it.
Then we got ready and headed to downtown to Union Square for all of our meetings!
After our last meeting, we walked to Bergdorf and Goodman for a glass of Veuve before heading to dinner.

THURSDAY
Thursday morning before packing up and heading to our hotel, we headed to AKT Fitness in the Upper East Side!
I’m not going to lie, this class was so hard!! I had already heard of it bc Kelly Ripa takes classes there… so when they reached out for us to try their studio, I jumped at the opportunity (!!) but had no idea it would be as hard as it was!

My favorite #ootd for brand meetings all day!
I told you guys I would re-wear this little red romper at nyfw!!
After checking into our hotel that afternoon (We stayed at The Roxy in Tribeca) we immediately changed, headed straight to a meeting, the Banana Republic Showroom and a dinner with Bare Minerals.

FRIDAY
After having Glamsquad arrive at our hotel room at 8:45, we had a little breakfast then spent our morning was spent at Reward Style HQ! They put this on every nyfw! The wind was kind of killer this day, so my hair totally fell but I still loved the pampering!

MORE PINK PANTS
We didn’t eat here, but we did pass it and fell in love with how cute this restaurant was!
Left: Visiting Now & Zen PR | Right: Having a very New York – Carrie Bradshaw moment riding the subway with my Manolo’s in hand 😉
That afternoon we had High Tea at Laduree in Soho.
If you are ever in the area – go!! Also be sure to sit in the Garden Area because it is absolutely to die for.
Friday nights #ootn (outfit of the night 😉 ) for a rooftop happy hour with my Houston girls before Lulu’s Annual NYFW Party!
This dress without a doubt beat out all of my expectations. I was absolutely in love with it. The way it fit, the way I felt in it… its quality…. everything!! If you’re a little on the taller side though, beware! I am very short (5 feet to be exact) and it was a little short on me!

Saturday, we decided to take it easy and enjoy New York a little bit!
We woke up early, went to Soul Cycle, had our hair done at the Dry Bar, then came back and got ready for the day. We did a little shooting & shopping, we stopped by the boutique Sezane and had lunch at Jacks Wife Freda before heading back home to get ready for the Reward Style NYFW Party!

Where to Stay
The Roxy Hotel: We loved staying here! It’s located in Tribeca and for being a New York hotel, it was decently priced with good sized rooms (!!) which is really hard to come by in NY!
The Kimpton Hotel: There are a few Kimpton hotels throughout the city! We didn’t stay here, but we almost did and ironically kept ending up at all of their locations for either dinner or drinks!
Food
Bergdorf Goodman: (Off 5th) Great for lunch, a cocktail or high tea!! The restaurant is on the top floor of Bergdorf Goodman. Make a reservation and try to get a seat by the windows that overlook all of central park.
Jacks Wife Freeda: (Nolita) A lively all day bistro. There are actually a few locations all over the city but the Nolita location is my favorite! Super cute, farm-to-table restaurant with an incredible brunch scene. Expect a wait but try to sit outside!!
Ladurée Soho: (Soho) Sitting in the garden is a must!! Go for High Tea or a late lunch. It’s absolutely magical.
L’Amico: (Midtown) We went here for dinner and it was SO good! Italian/American Cuisine, very dark romantic & rustic vibes.
Little Prince: (Soho) We didn’t eat here, but it’s pictured above and I have it on my list for next time!! We past by and fell in love.
Print: (Hells Kitchen) A great farm to table restaurant in The Kimpton Hotel. Perfect for dinner!
Scallinatelli: (Upper West Side) Truly authentic Italian restaurant with a truly authentic Italian experience. Known celebrity spot. Go for dinner!
Serra by Birreria on the Roof: An absolutely gorgeous covered rooftop garden restaurant. Perfect for lunch – also has a huge beer craft beer scene so guys will love it too!
Drinks
While We Were Young: (Soho) The cutest and most instagrammable little cocktail place. Known for their flower rose, this place is seriously just the cutest! I believe they have food too, but we only went for drinks!
The Press Lounge: (Hells Kitchen) Hands down the best rooftop lounge in all of the city. It truly shows you the whole skyline of the city.
Roof at Park South: (Mid Town) Another great rooftop! The views aren’t incredible but they have a great crowd and an amazing happy hour. Get the french fries.
xo,
Lauren
