Happy Monday Babes!
How was everyone’s weekend?? If you’re reading this and you’re from Houston, then you know that we had the most amazing weather. Like, oh my gosh! It was a doors open, long walks outside and lunch on the patio all weekend long.
Friday night I went to the Houston Opera with Francesca’s, then woke up early on Saturday to go to my favorite spin class at Ryde before meeting Colton (& Bentley) for breakfast at Barnaby’s. That’s honestly one of my most favorite Saturday traditions that we have. The Barnaby’s off Shepard though!! That’s the only one I like 🙂 Their patio is my favorite!
Then that night, we drove out to Montgomery for a wedding (this is the dress I wore!) and Sunday we relaxed, took Bentley to Buffalo Bayou for a long walk since it was so gorgeous outside and ran a million little errands to help us get ready for the week.
It was just all around a really great weekend and since this is my last full weekend in Houston until Thanksgiving, I wanted to enjoy it as much as possible!
Now that’s Monday though, I’m ready to start this week off on the right foot.
Set new goals, work hard and make this week count.
5 Ways To Start You Week Off Right
Go into the Week with a Positive Outlook
Instead of dreading the fact that’s Monday, go into this week with a positive attitude. It’s so cliché to hate Monday. Everyone’s walking around, complaining that it’s a new week…but why? Yeah, going to work sucks, especially if you don’t like your job…. but having a bad attitude will only make matters worse and the good news is that next weekend is only a few days away. I truly believe that the energy you put out into the world is exactly what it’s going to give right back to you.
Treat Yourself
Whether it’s grabbing a cup of coffee from Starbucks instead making it at the office, listening to your favorite podcast at your desk or going home after work and putting on a sheet mask. Do something for you today that makes you happy.
Workout
Rule #1: Never Miss a Monday Workout. It sets the tone for the whole week. If you work out today, you’ll be more likely to continue working out for the rest of the week. Plus, working out gives you endorphins! It’s good for your mind, body and soul.
Make Healthier Food Choices
Just like working out, start the week off making healthier food choices as well. Don’t start the week off making unhealthy choices because you’ll be more likely to make those same choices for the rest of the week.
Do Your Hardest Task First
I know, I know – this sounds terrible but if you have one task today that you’re dreading the most, just do it first and get it over with so that you don’t have it hanging over your head for the rest of the day. It will make the rest of your day seem so much easier!
What are your tips for starting the week off right?

The gym, I never miss a Monday…ever.
I haaaate waking up at 5AM on Monday from having a weekend break but I’m so glad that I do it. When my workout session is done and I’m in that shower, it’s a great feeling.
(If I ever did want to skip a Monday, I decide to skip on Tuesday in replace of Monday’s lol)
Love this post and these tips! I so agree that the way you start your week influences your whole week. To get ready for the week, on Sunday night or Monday morning I like to fill out my planner! I love knowing what’s coming up so I can plan the week accordingly.
