That’s right babes, I’m looking for an intern!

2018 was an incredible year for LifetoLauren and I’m expecting 2019 to be even better!  While I am so thankful for the opportunities that have risen out of 2018, it has become a little bit more than I can handle. I’m a one-woman show and I’m not afraid to admit that I can’t do it all – lol.

Over the holiday’s, I had a family member ask me exactly how many hours are put into running this blog each week and I wanted to be like “ummmmm, is 24 hrs a day and a 168 hrs a week an acceptable answer???” – lol (!!) because let me tell ya… If I’m not sleeping, I’m working and if I’m not working…..I’m thinking about working.

Luckily I love what I do!:) but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t hate gaining some of my life back.

So!! If you love fashion, a good sweat session and the occasional glass of white wine at lunch, then you’re going to fit right in!

LifetoLauren Internship Details

TERM OF INTERNSHIP

Term: Six Months

Estimated Internship Dates: 1/24/19 to 6/20/19

Resume Deadline: Sunday, January 12

LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

  • Lives in Houston.
  • Is able to drive to either my home or to a remote location in the Houston Galleria/Uptown area 2-3x a week.
  • Is able to work 8-10 hours per week.
  • Is extremely organized, a self-starter, creative, a quick learner, and is not afraid to keep me in line!
  • Is preferably working towards their communications, public relations, fashion or marketing degree.
  • Is comfortable working in a ‘dog friendly’ environment. Mister Bentley (my golden retriever) is a key member of the team!:)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Owns a laptop
  • Has their own means of transportation
  • Social media experience preferred (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest)

SKILLS

  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Strong Communication skills.
  • Basic camera skills.
  • Interest in fashion, social media, photography and design.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS 

  • Basic experience in programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Word Press, iMovie, Tailwind and Planoly.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist with social media. This includes interacting, posting and helping to schedule posts on Instagram, Facebook & Pinterest.
  • Updating old blog posts, backlinks and keeping the site up-to-date.
  • Help with weekly photoshoots. This could include being asked to take photos, help set-up/clean-up photo shoots or run various errands for photoshoots.
  • Creating graphics for blog posts and Pinterest.
  • Handle Pinterest scheduling through Tailwind.
  • Basic editing and proof-reading for blog posts.
  • All Poshmark related tasks.

FAQS

  • I don’t live in Houston , can I apply and work remotely? Unfortunately, I’m only looking for someone local at this time. I need someone who is hands on.
  • I currently work at a full-time job but would be able to work after 5:00, would that work? The truth is, I really need somebody during the day. One of the sole reasons for hiring someone would be to help me during the day so that I no longer have to work all evening.
  • I want to start a blog, can you teach me? I’m looking for someone who can help me grow my business and potentially work with me long term. While you will learn valuable social media tactics through the internship, this is not a blogging training course.
  • Is this a paid internship? No, but after the six-month internship is complete, the intern candidate will be re-evaluated and if both parties are happy, payment opportunities will be offered.
