What’s On My Beauty Counter

Welcome Backs Babes!

I thought I would stay in theme with Tuesday’s Blog Post and share with you guys all of the beauty products that are currently on my beauty counter.

From hair to skincare, these are the products that I use on a daily basis and since I use them so much, its easier to keep them out on my counter as opposed to putting them under the skink. I’m all about convenience here!:)

Some of the products are staples that I have been using for years, while others are new one that I cannot live without!! This post is a little long, but I really wanted to break down each product, explain why I use them and how I use them every single day! I also made sure to list each product in the exact same order that I use them! If you have any questions about any one of the products listed below, just leave it in the comments section and I promise I will 100% get back to you!

Enjoy!!:)

HAIR PRODUCTS

  • Moroccan Oil (#15): I first started using Moroccan Oil in college, after my roommate recommended it to me and ever since then it has been a staple in my bathroom! I love, love the way it smells and the way it makes my hair feel. It’s infused with argan oil and vitamins, and helps to speed up drying time, boost shine and leave hair looking nourished and smooth.  Seriously, it makes my hair SO shiny. After washing and brushing through my hair, I put a small pea sized amount onto my hand and then rub it all through my hair. Mainly focusing on my ends and staying away from my scalp!

  • Dry Shampoo (#12): In between washes (I only wash my hair every two days), dry shampoo is life!! It keeps my hair looking fresh, without having to fully get my hair wet & blow dry it. While I also really love this one from Dry Bar, this one from Living Proof is the one I have been using as of lately! I love it because it smells nice, doesn’t have any residue and won’t cause a ton of build up like other dry shampoos might.

  • Flexible Hair Spray (#11): Seriously SO OBSESSED with this hair spray. Since I like my curls to be on the bouncier/wavy side, I like to use a flexible hair spray as opposed to a stiff one and this one has been amazing. I’ve been using it for the past month or so and have been super impressed. It’s even great for those humid Houston days!! Before trying this one, I was using Flexible Hair Spray from Dry Bar  and while it worked fine, I was very underwhelmed.

MORNING SKINCARE

  • Vitamin C Serum (#9): The newest addition to my skincare routine and officially my favorite. Normally, it takes 30 days to see results from a skincare product, but I swear I’ve seen immediate results with this Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C+ Collagen Serum. It’s a serum that revs up tired looking skin for an immediately radiant complexion. First thing in the morning, after rinsing my face with water (I do not cleanse in the am) I put one pump of the serum onto my fingers and rub it into my face and neck! As soon as I do this, I  swear it tightens and brightens my skin instantly, leaving it looking amazing for the rest of the day.

  • Olay Total Effects 7-in1 Moisturizer w/ SPF (#13): I’ve been using this Anti Aging Daily Moisturizer from Olay a little over a year now and I am absolutely obsessed with it! The whole method behind this product is that your skin gets seven different benefits when using it. It replenishes moisture, evens your skin tone, enhances brightness, visibly smoothes fine lines and wrinkles, minimizes the look of pores and restores firmness. While there is a version that doesn’t have spf in it, I prefer the one that does because I like to protect my skin from the sun as much as possible!! The best part is that it is super light, so it goes on great underneath my makeup and even though it has spf in it, it doesn’t smell like sunscreen at all!

  • Dr. Brandt De-puffing Eye Gel (#8): I’ve only used this De-puffing Eye Gel a handful of times (I literally got it last week!), but just like the Vitamin C+ Serum from above, I swear it works miracles!! I normally have very tired looking eyes in the morning but since I started using this eye gel, I have truly looked less tired and my crow’s feet haven’t been as bad. All I do is dab a little bit of it around my eyes and I swear it makes my dark bags and circles disappear instantly.

NIGHTIME SKINCARE

  • Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover (#16): After hearing from so many professionals about the horrible (& aging) side effects of makeup remover wipes, I have really made the effort the past few months to stop using them and start taking my makeup off correctly. While I’m not always perfect and the lazy side of me will sometimes reach for a wipe, keeping this Oil-Free Makeup Remover on my counter makes it less likely for me to do so.  I was given this Mary Kay one at an event recently and I while I really like it, any oil-free makeup remover I think would work just fine. I put a little bit on a cotton pad and use it to take my eye makeup off before cleansing my skin and then clean it up with a q-tip afterward.

  • Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser (#7): This is the everyday cleanser I have been using! I recently received it as a sample in a PR Package and have been loving it so far!! After taking my eye makeup off, I use this cleanser to do the rest. It’s a great cleanser for all types of skin (even sensitive skin!) and does a really good job at cleaning my face and getting my makeup off without drying me out.

  • Laniege Vitamin Cleansing Water (#2): I recently added this cleansing water to my routine a few months ago and have decided that I will definitely be buying it again! After cleansing my face, I like to use this Laniege Vitamin Cleansing Water to get the remaining dirt and makeup off!  I just do 1-2 pumps of it onto a cottoned and rub it all over my skin. I love this product because it’s really gentle and is a great/easy way to double cleanse.

  • Tula PH Balance Resurfacing Gel (#3): Once my face is nice and clean, I use this Tula Resurfacing Gel! It is a toner that balances your skins pH level, whether you’re dry, oily or a combination of both and has acids in it that help to resurface and repair the skin. This is another one that I put on a cotton pad and wipe all over my skin.

  • Collen Rothechild Retinol Serum (#14): The next step in my nighttime routine is this Retinol Night Oil. If you’re wanting to slowly introduce retinol into your beauty regimen, then this product is a great one to start with! While Retinol is fantastic for anti-aging, it can also really dry out your skin, but this serum won’t because it combines the regenerative benefits of retinol with the moisturizing properties of plant-based oils. It helps to fight wrinkles, age spots and improve dullness. After applying my Resurfacing Gel, I put a few drops of this serum on my fingers and gently rub it into my face, neck, and chest until it’s dispersed evenly.

  • Kate Somerville +Retinol Firming Eye Gel (#10): This firming eye gel has been a favorite for over a year! I picked it up after listening to a Podcast Interview with Kate Somerville herself! It’s a retinol based eye cream for all types of skin and visibly firms, brightens and hydrates the eye area. I stopped using it for a while out of pure laziness but started using it again after doing a skin test at the Olay Labs in Cincinnati last August and saw just how aged my eyes really were!

  • Olay Total Effects Whip: I completely forgot to add this product list above, but I couldn’t not include it because my nighttime routine wouldn’t be complete without! Even on my laziest skincare days, I never forget to moisturize before bed. This is technically the same  Olay moisturizer that I use during the day, but the difference is that this one is truly fragrance free (aka no spf) and since it is the “whip version” the moisturizer itself has a much thicker consistency, which I prefer for the nighttime!!

  • Laniege Lip Sleeping Mask (#6): I don’t mean to be dramatic, but this lip mask has literally changed my life. I started using it right at the New Year and I seriously don’t know how I have gone so long without it. It’s essence, it’s just a really hydrating lip balm/mask that you put on at night while you sleep, leaving your lips perfectly moisturized when you wake up. I tend to get really dry lips but since using this lip mask, I rarely ever have to sue lip balm!

EXTRAS

  • Tea Tree Oil  (#4): Aka – the only spot treatment you will ever need! Whenever I have a pimple pop up, I just dab a little bit of this tea tree oil on it and bam, my pimple is gone by the morning! It’s absolutely WILD how well it works.

  • Diptyque Candle (#5): Not a beauty product, but it’s on my counter so I thought that I should include it! Since Diptyque candles are so expensive, once I have burned through one, I like to save the jars and use them for different things! Like this one, for example, I used to hold my q-tips!
