Happy Friday Babes!
I hope you all had a great week. I literally cannot believe it’s almost October!! This year has completely flown by. Especially September, the whole month feels like one big blur. If ya’ll haven’t noticed, I have had quite the love/hate relationship with my apartment and have spent the last month making changes left and right.
I feel like you guys think I’ve probably gone insane lol, but I just really needed to change some things and declutter my life. Have y’all ever just woken up one day and wanted to change everything about your home? I can’t be the only one lol!
Luckily, everything is coming together and I’m quite please with the results!:) I promise I will be doing a whole post on all the changes I’ve made in the next few weeks or so. In the meantime, you can find all of my Home Decor Here!
Any who, let’s dive into the rest of the post!

NETFLIX
- Tall Girl (movie): Lighthearted and sweet teenage rom-com.
- Otherhood (movie): I mentioned this movie back in August and if you haven’t seen it yet – DO SO NOW. It’s so freaking cute and a great movie for all ages.
- The Ranch (show): If you loved That 70’s Show & Two and a Half Men, then you will love the Ranch! It starts Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson (Hyde from That 70’s Show) and it’s literally hysterical. Actors from both shows make constant appearances, its on the same set as Two and Half Men was, it’s light hearted, funny and everything I’ve needed.
- Working Moms (show): A podcast I listen too recommended this show! It’s kind of a lot, in like every way…. but it’s real life and super underrated.

GIRL CHAT Q&A
Q: How did you get started with Fashion Blogging?
I started my blog in July of 2015 after a year of working full-time. My job was less than glamorous and I was craving a creative outlet. Reading blogs became my escape and after talking about the idea of starting a blog of my own for over six months, I finally had the courage to go for it.
Before starting my blog, I did a lot of research, watched a million YouTube videos on editing and website building, put together enough content to last me at least two months and then launched it!
I’ve actually written a few blog posts on it – you can find them below!:)
Q: How did you make blogging a career that actually makes money?
By not quitting my day job, staying consistent, having patience, not giving up and working for free for a very long time. Unfortunately, this isn’t the industry to get into if you want to make a quick buck or get easy money. You have to have passion and actually enjoy it! Eventually, the money will come and your following will grow but it takes time…..
Q: As a Bride, how did your Maid of Honor help you and how could she have helped you more?
Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! One thing that I loved about my MOH is that she did a really good job of making me feel special, she was super organized in all of her planning (she was a former event planner so that helped!) and was really helpful with all of the basics. She was the person that I could really vent too about the wedding drama and get advice from. She helped me pick themes, make decisions and was “that somebody” that I needed in my corner during the whole process. Here is a whole list of 20 Maid of Honor Responsibilities for reference.
In regards to what she could have helped me more with? The only thing that comes to mind was maybe helping me coordinate and take care of all the bridesmaids/everyone’s questions the morning of the wedding. That’s hard though because I also didn’t ask her for help with those things either. Here’s something to keep in mind – your MOH isn’t a mind reader, so my advice is to be upfront on things you need help with and to actually ask for help when you need it.
Q: I love your LV! What size do you have and do you recommend it?
I went with the MM (the medium size) because we decided that the GM was just a little too big for my petite frame and I 100000000% recommend it! It’s the BEST purse I have ever had and it goes with everything. Don’t get me wrong though – it’s definitely an investment. Spending $1400 on a purse is not a light decision but with that being said….it’s a staple piece that will hold its value for forever.
Q: How do you keep your apartment looking so clean?!
That’s so kind but I promise, it’s not lol. Here are my Top Tricks for Keeping Our Home Clean though!
Q: Do you or would you ever wax?
Definitely! I’ve been waxing for about eight years now and highly recommend it! I started in college and when I moved back to Houston, I started going to European Wax Center and haven’t had any problems.
Q: I’m getting married this November! Do you have any recommendations on where I should look for Shower and Rehearsal Dinner Dresses?
So exciting – congratulations!! I’d recommend looking at Red Dress Boutique, Nordstrom, Revolve and ShopBop!
Have a great weekend!
xo,
Lauren
