Welcome Back Cuties!
I am so excited to share all of the photos and details for our Gender Reveal Party that we had last weekend. Colton and I actually found out the gender back in early December and kept going back and forth on if we wanted to do a Gender Reveal for our friends/family or not and I’m so glad that we did!
The reason I didn’t want to initially have a gender reveal is because I normally kind of think they are corny…especially since Colton and I already knew the gender… but it actually turned out to be so much fun and was an easy excuse to get everyone together on a Saturday afternoon and celebrate this next chapter. We even had friends come in from out of town, which was seriously so kind and something I would have never expected.
We actually found out what we were having wayyy before we were supposed too. Most couples find out the gender at their 20-week anatomy scan or through a blood test that can be done around 10 weeks (then takes 2 weeks to get the results) but we found out during our 10-week ultrasound appt, before ever even doing the blood test. Our tech was super excited and kind of blurted it out without warning….which honestly was fine… I mean, it would be different if we really wanted it to be a surprise, but luckily that wasn’t the case and we had already discussed early on that no matter what, we wanted to find out the gender together and share that moment between just the two of us.
I will say, it was THE hardest secret to keep. Towards the end, and I feel terrible about this, but I had to just start telling people that we didn’t know when they asked because I literally couldn’t even try to hide it anymore. It was just too hard to keep a straight face!
As I mentioned, it was a Saturday afternoon, surrounded by friends and family, with lots of yummy food and drinks. I decided to wear white, as opposed to picking pink or blue because I was team healthy baby all the way! To be completely honest, I always thought that if I were to ever get pregnant, I would 100% know whether I wanted a boy or girl, but ever since the day we found out, I’ve just prayed that our baby would be healthy!! I mean, pregnancy is truly terrifying lol. You’re literally growing a human inside you and everything that you do, affects the baby. It’s easy for your mind to start going crazy about everything that could go wrong and eventually, the gender seems like the least of your worries! Colton on the other hand was oddly team girl lol. Not because he didn’t want a boy or anything, but because I think he just oddly associated the baby with being a girl for the mere fact that I’m a girl lol.
At the end of the day though, the party turned out to be such a good time and it was seriously so surreall to see our loved ones reactions and how excited they were. No body was excited as Colton’s Mom though lol!
Then lastly, as you guys already know…. we’re having a Baby Boy (!!) and truly couldn’t be more excited to meet this little nugget!
Now if we could just decide on a name….. 😉

We used these “Oh Baby” Balloons at the beginning of the party as regular decor and then moved it outside to use as a backdrop for our reveal! I bought these cute little buttons for our guests to wear that said whether they were “Team Boy or Team Girl”. I had this ‘Old Wives Tale’ sign printed at Office Depot for less than $30. It was literally so easy! These question mark tooth picks made the cutest little accesorry for our cupcakes! Then lastly, for the actual reveal, we bought (5) of these confetti canons from ‘PoofThereItIs’ (I found them on IG!) and picked their Venice Collection in Blue/Silver.

{Before I end this, I have to give a HUGE thank you to our Papo for letting us invade his beautiful home and for hosting our sweet party! Im worried he is going to have confetti in his yard for a lifetime….Then also to my mom who went above and beyond with everything. The party literally wouldn’t have happened without her! To Colton’s whole family for helping us get everything together and to all of our friends and family for coming out to celebrate with us!}
xo,
Lauren
