Happy Friday!

My goodness has it been a long time since I’ve done a Friday Frills post.

After sharing a few of my favorite fitness posts earlier this week on storiese, I went back to read a few of them myself and it made me really miss the days when I would just chat with you all on here and have a new blog post up every day of the week. It’s crazy how much Instagram and IG Stories have changed this industry.

I mean, while I love how easy it is to share everyday moments, sales, and whatever else I want to with you all throughout the day on stories…. I miss the old days lol. Where before, I would write a whole blog post on a certain subject or thought, now I just get on stories and go off on a tangent.

Anyways… HOW IS IT ALREADY ALMOST AUGUST.

I mean, besides having a bebe… this has been the most uneventful, most unsummery summer of my life! I’ve been officially cleared by my doctor though, so I am really hoping I see a pool day in my future for this weekend!

July’s Top Five Sellers

In case you missed these posts

What I’ve watched recently and loved

Friday Night Lights: How had I not watched this show all the way through until now?! IT’S EVERYTHING. I had seen episodes here and there before but this was the first time I sat down and watched all five seasons and oh my gosh was it the best.

The Politician: Second season! Much shorter than the first but it’s so entertaining and I love all the fashion in it.

About Time: If you need a cute movie that isn’t horribly corny – then this one is a must!! Colton and I both just absolutely loved it.

What I watched and hated

  • Dr. Foster: Literally so depressing.
  • Kissing Booth Two: I knew the first one was corny but this one was unbearably corny and way too long.
  • The Layover: LOL. Colton almost banned me from ever picking a movie again after this one. It has Kate Upton in it and the acting is so bad it was awful lol.

What I’m Currently Watching

The Betty Broderick Story! My best friend has been trying to get me to watch it for a few weeks now so I am finally just getting to it!

Then Moms and Black-ish! So random and I put the two of them together because they come on back to back from each other every morning from 8-10 on (CBS?)  and they have been the highlight of my mornings recently. I’m just so over the news right now and after stumbling upon these two one morning and literally loling the whole time, it has just stuck.

A Trend I’m Currently Loving: EVERYTHING PEPLIN

Currently putting together a blog post on all of my favorite current trends (peplin & bandana tops) along with a few that I am ready to see go (I’m talking to you tie-dye) but in the meantime, here are a few of my Peplin favorites!

If you’re wondering what Peplin is, it’s the type of material.

Friday Frills Q&A

What post-pregnancy workout program will you be starting?

I kind of mentioned it in this post, but I plan on doing Kayla Itsines BBG program. I was originally going to do her post-partum plan but I tried it and it’s a little too slow for me… so I am going to start her original BBG program again since I have completed it so many times in the past and know that it works.

Do you have a blog post on how you postponed your wedding?

I have a blog post back from when I had to postpone our wedding, but if you’re looking for advice and all the certain steps we took to actually postpone our wedding, then you’ll find that on my IG highlights! It’s called “Note to Brides“.

Will you do an updated blog post for white bridal dresses?

Sure! I hadn’t yet because I know so many weddings are up in the air right now but I can still but a list together! In the meantime, I love this one (runs big), this one, this one and this one

Did you end up moving Teddy out of your room?

Yes, and it was the best decision we ever made! He’s such a loud sleeper and it was absolutely impossible for us to get any sleep while he was in there.  The first night was hard, but after that it was fine. Plus, with the combination of the owlet sock, the SNOO, and our monitor, I really do feel comfortable with him being in there.

How are you liking the SNOO?

I should probably do a formal review on it soon but here are my thoughts on it so far. To keep it simple, we honestly do like it. Would I spend the $1200+ to purchase it though? Probably not. Especially since your baby will only be in it until they’re 5-6 months, which is why we rent ours. The only reason it would make sense to purchase would be if you were planning on having babies back-to-back. For us, that’s not the case.

Teddy honestly didn’t love the rocking motion at first, so we only started implementing that feature once he was about  4 weeks and we only use it when he is super fussy. I know that people swear the SNOO is the reason their baby sleeps through the night, which Teddy pretty much does at this point, but I think it has more to do with his sleep training than it is the SNOO. Besides the rocking though, my personal favorite feature is the sleep sack and how it holds the baby in place, not allowing them to roll over and preventing SIDS. It gives us such peace of mind, especially since he is not in our room. I also like that it has lifts that you can get for the legs, which elevate it 2inches on one side, helping with babies digestion and acid reflux.

I’ve read a few other bloggers speak out against the SNOO and that they wouldn’t be getting one because they want their baby to be able to self soothe and not rely on the SNOO… and while I totally agree with that (it’s the main reason we don’t always turn ours on), alot of these girls also have night nurses… which we do not… so I don’t really think it’s fair to give that opinion when they have never had to be up with a super fussy baby all night long, multiple days in a row.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

xo,

Lauren
