An updated version of this post was very needed! I wanted to make one that was very to the point and easy to update as needed, so here it is! I’ll be saving it on the front of my home page so that its always easily accessible for y’all!
As always, if you have any questions just leave them in the comments section!
About My Hair
My natural hair color is blonde. Like very blonde. To put it lightly, I was basically naturally platinum until I turned 18. That’s when my hair started getting slighting darker and started getting highlights. My hair is still very light but not nearly as light as I get it done. I only mention this for anyone wanting to achieve the same color! It’s an important little disclaimer.
Texture wise, it’s pretty thick and is naturally wavy/straight depending on if I style it or not. I’ve never had extensions and I’m all about keeping my hair as healthy as possible! Growing up I could never get my hair to curl but thankfully as an adult have learned how to make my curls stick with the right techniques and products!
Stylists Info
Chris Kirkendall
Chris been my stylist for 7+ years and is truly the best! He does both my color/cut and is just so talented and really cares about the health of his clients hair. He’s also very reasonably priced. I could rave for days!
For my cut, I do long layers with framing around the face and with full foil (spring/summer) and a toner. I’ll get balayage over full foil in the fall/winter!!
For appointments: Text (281) 433-6185
Location: Houston (inner loop) at Memorial & Wescott! The salon is called Salon Vive (Although do not call salon vive for appts tho. While he currently has a chair there, he is not one of their stylist)
Everyday Shampoo/Conditioner
Shampoo: Dae Shampoo (little goes a long way)
Second favorite: Glow System Shampoo by Alo Yoga
Conditioner/Mask: Colleen Rothschild Quenching Hair Mask
Hands down the most amazing hair product I have ever used in my life. My hair has never been softer, silkier or healthier.
Detox Shampoo
Does your hair ever do this weird thing where no matter what you do or how many times you wash it, it just doesn’t feel clean. Then you need to start adding a detox shampoo into your haircare routine! They are super important because they get rid of all the product build up that’s in your hair (think dry shampoo, hair spray, everyday shampoo that’s not washed out all the way etc.) and cleans all the nastiness away!
Top Detox Shampoo: OAUI Detox Shampoo (I have tried a lot and this one is my favorite!)
I use a detox shampoo 1x a week – followed by the Colleen Rothschild Mask actually used as a mask.
Toner
Whenever my blonde is looking a little dull, I like to mix a little bit of this shampoo with my everyday shampoo and it works really well!
(3) Purple Shampoo: Kristin Ess Purple Shampoo from Target!!
Use as like a normal conditioner for everyday washes and as hair mask once a week.

Styling Tools
As of 2022, my #1 styling too is hands down the Dyson Airwrap. I know it’s expensive and I need to do a whole review on it but it has been life chancing. I’ll be honest, it took me a few months to really figure out how to use it but it’s pretty much the only tool I use these days. It has taken the place of every single other tool I used to use. If you want more individual tool though, these are my favorite!
