One thing that has been hard since graduating is not feeling like I am apart of something. In school, you’re involved in so much, that you don’t have time for life. Once you graduate though, you really start to miss being involved and being busy all the time. The meetings, the get togethers, the service hours, fun events, trips and practices with your friends. I mean, yes there are work get togethers…but its not the same.
I had been searching volunteer organizations for quite awhile. I was looking for one that I could easily fit into my work schedule, be able to meet a lot of people, and be able to give back at the same time. I never pulled the plug in joining anything until my friend Ann asked me to join Women of Wardrobe with her. Women of Wardrobe is a great organization that directly supports Dress for Success Houston in helping women in less fortunate situations not only find jobs, but help prepare them and get them the job.
They have a lot of great mixers that all support the cause & fun activities for members to participate in. This one particular was held at Kendra Scott a few weeks ago. We had the opportunity to preview Kendra’s new collection, Mystic Bizzaar. There was wine, food, raffles, and an over all great time.
The next event will be held at Tootsies, August 19 at 6:30 p.m.
If you’re interest in joining, go to http://www.womenofwardrobe.org
Then we can go to events together!:)
