Happy Monday Babes! I hope that everyone had a great weekend:)
This post is way, way, way overdue. As in, about 8 months overdue….lol.
So why have I just now decided to share all my patio details? I mean, shouldn’t I be sharing Christmas decor right now?? The answer is plain and simple. If not now, when? I had planned to have this post go up last spring but kept pushing it off because in my mind “it was ready yet”. Then the next thing I knew, we were mid-way through summer, travel for weeks at a time, all my plants died and the whole thing just slipped my mind. We also aren’t entirely sure we will still be here come next spring, and since it’s my most favorite spot in our home, I thought it deserved a moment of its own and to not be forgotten! Plus, I get a lot of questions from you guys about it.
So here we are – welcome to my balcony!
A FEW THINGS TO NOTE
My patio is abnormally large for an apartment, so don’t worry if you’re not able to recreate my exact space. Make your space your own and take into consideration what you want to use it for. Also, be sure to measure everything on your balcony before buying anything.

HOW I BUILT MY COUCH
I knew I wanted something fun and cozy at the end of my patio, but I was having a really hard time finding furniture that fit my space and wasn’t over the top expensive… so I had to get creative!
After a lot of online searching and a few hours at Ikea, I decided to get to plain white backless benches and push them together to create one large bench. Next, I bought two bench cushions. One to use to actually sit on and the other to sit upright and serve as “the back” of my couch. This left about half a foot of open space on my benches to fill with pillows! Below are a few, but I honestly bought most of mine from Home Goods!

Our exact dining set is a few years old but this one is identical. This retro fan was literally a lifesaver and the real MVP all summer long. These are the plant potters I have hanging over our balcony. You’ll want to get a specific outdoor rug like this one that will be able to stand the weather and a side-folding table like this one is a must as well!
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into our home!
Have a great week!
xo,
Lauren

I created our “couch” by using those pallets stacked on top with tons of cushions! Thank you Pinterest! I love how wide and big it is!
