You guys have been asking for this list since Teddy was born but I really wanted to make sure we had time to use/try out the products before recommending them to everyone! When navigating your registry while pregnant, it’s hard to really understand what you are going to need and actually use until your baby is here.
If you are looking for my favorite post-partum products, I would check out this blog post and then my full baby registry blog post is here!
Our Favorite Newborn Products
Mam Pacifiers {Newborn} | These are the only pacifiers Teddy will use. We have so many others but these mam ones are literally the only ones he will use.
Dockatot | You could get the Snuggleme too (they are essentially the same thing and have equally great reviews) but we have the Dockatot and love it. It’s just an easy/place to put baby while you do little things like making the bed or just watching TV. It’s super easy to clean and bring with you places too.
Como Tomo Bottles | Both Colton and Teddy’s favorite bottles. Out of all of the ones we have, this is the only one that doesn’t leak or get clogged. We also like that they are silicon as opposed to plastic so we don’t have to worry about the bottle getting too hot or heating the plastic too much when warming up his bottle.
Gripe Water | Since baby tummies are so new, small, and sensitive, things as simple as gas or the hiccups can really irritate them. So we give him a little bit of Gripe Water after feedings to help. We don’t do it after every feeding but always after his nighttime feedings. It instantly calms him down and really helps with any discomfort he might have.
Bottle Sanitizer and Warmer | Some people say that both of these items aren’t necessary but boy oh boy have they made our lives easier from the start. I started pumping almost immediately after having Teddy and in case you aren’t familiar, pumping comes with a lot of parts that have to be cleaned after every use. It’s so easy to just throw all of the parts to my pump in the sanitizer for five minutes rather than having to boil them or run them through the sanitation cycle in the dishwasher every single time. Same thing with the warmer. It’s all about convenience.
Baby Shusher | This little device is a lifesaver. It’s basically a little portable sound maker that makes the infamous “shush” sound over and over to help calm baby down. The “shushing” noise is used because it mimics the sound of your blood flow that baby heard while in the womb.
Hatch Sound Machine | We love this sound machine because it gets really loud and doubles as a nightlight as well. We control it through an app on our phones and is just so easy to use.
Hatch Changing Pad | We love this changing pad because (1) it’s so easy to clean. If we get poop on it or something, all we have to do is wipe it off as opposed to having to wash the whole thing. (2) Teddy is small, so we really have to track is weight and the hatch changing pad makes it so easy to do so. (3) The app that connects it to our phone! It automatically saves his weight, tracks his feedings, diaper changes and etc all in one.
Ollie Swaddle | Coming from someone who bought a million swaddles because I just didn’t know how many we would need… we literally only use this one. We like the Ollie Swaddle because it is SO soft, washes well, and has the velcro on it for easy swaddling.
Doona Carseat Stroller | Cannot recommend the Doona enough! It was literally the number one product recommended to me by so many of you and I couldn’t agree more. It’s a newborn car seat/stroller all in one. So incredibly easy to use and is super lightweight. Since I knew it was going to be just me and Teddy most of the time, I wanted to make sure we had a system that was super easy for me to carry and use on my own without Colton’s help. (I have a tutorial on how to use it saved to my baby products highlight section on Instagram)
Portable Fan | This is the little portable fan that we attach to Teddy’s stroller and love! So easy, works super well, attaches to literally everything, and keeps him cool while he is in there.
Aquafor 3-in-1 Cream | We’ve also used Dr. Boudroux and Desitin but so far, Aquafor has been our favorite. The bottle is convenient to use, the cream is white so when you wipe it off on a cloth it doesn’t show a mark, there is no smell and it works super well for both preventing and healing diaper rashes.
Baby socks and mittens | Socks to keep their little feet warm! We really didn’t buy him any shoes because we felt like it would be a waste since babies grow so fast… but we also don’t want him to always be barefoot all the time… so instead, we just do socks! Then the mittens because babies have crazy sharp fingernails and tend to scratch their faces, so the mittens prevent them from doing that. We just bought this simple pack from Amazon and they have worked great.
Frida Moms Nose Sucker | Hopefully, your baby isn’t as stuffy as Teddy but just in case, I would get one of these nose suckers. They work SO well and put the traditional nose suckers to shame. Works even better if you get baby saline spray to go along with it.
Bamboo Swaddle Blanket | We love this blanket because it’s so so so incredibly soft, super lightweight and can be used as a swaddle as well. All the blankets we were given and is the only one we use.
These burp cloths | Truly the best! Out of all the other burp cloths we have, these are the only ones we have used and bought more of.
Owlet Sock | A heart rate and oxygen level monitor that goes on baby’s foot like a sock while they sleep and will notify you by an alarm on your phone and through its home station if your baby stops breathing. With SIDS being such a concern for newborns, this really gave us peace of mind.
Vava Monitor | We did a lot of research on monitors and ultimately decided on this one! We always thought that we would want a wifi-based monitor (like the nanit) that we could use on our phone but went in the opposite direction and got the Vava instead. We decided it would be annoying to constantly have to pull the monitor up on our phones as opposed to it being on a separate device that always has the screen up. Plus, our wifi is the worst… so we didn’t want to have to worry about poor connection. Then lastly, hacking. We have heard so many horror stories from friends about creeps hacking wifi baby monitors and I just didn’t even want to risk it.
Why The Snoo isn’t on the list.
While we LOVE our Snoo and are so happy with it…Teddy didn’t like it until he was about three weeks old. He was just too small for it at first. Since then we’ve had great success but it’s just super expensive and I don’t want to make any new mama feel like they have to have it. It’s nice and we love it but if we didn’t have it, we would survive.
We also took the TakingCaraBabies “Will I Ever Sleep Again” Newborn course and cannot recommend it enough. As first-time parents with zero experience, it really helped prepare us. From how to calm a fussy baby, to planning out a feeding/eating schedule, learning his hunger cues and etc., it really helped us feel prepared.

Lauren
