90’s Minimalist
Think Meredith Blake and Elizabeth James. It’s Rachel Green, Kate Moss and Princess Diana in her famous revenge dress.
This is hands down my favorite trend of the season. I just turned 30, so I’m in this weird in-between category of not wanting to dress like a wanna be 23-year-old while also not wanting to look like a mom and this trend is the perfect in-between. It’s effortless, elevated, classic, appropriate, and sexy all at the same time. Lots of little black dresses and mini skirts paired with a lightweight coat.

Straight Leg & Wide Leg Jeans
If you didn’t retire your skinny jeans last year, it’s time. I promise, that both straight leg jeans and wide leg jeans they are so much more flattering than skinny jeans. Even on my shorter frame.
If I had to pick one to start with, I’d do a pair of straight leg before wide and I swear by the straight leg jean line at Old Navy. I live in mine. They fit tts and are so flattering. I do love their wide leg jeans too (pictured wearing above) and actually just ordered a pair in black! I wear a size 2r in both.

Oversized Button Downs
Specifically in blue. While I think that everyone should have a classic, white, button down in their closet – blue button downs are having a moment and I’m obsessed. So while I’d suggest adding white into your closet before blue… if you already have a white one – get a blue one for this season and then thank me later!
I just ordered this one from amazon essentials!

Knee High Boots
I suggest a pointed toe or (small) square toe and you want them to hit right below your knee. Riding boots and Western Boots both fit into this category as well! Just say no to thigh high or over the knee boots.
I just ordered this pair in ‘dark chocolate’ (under $100) and am so excited for them to come in! They’re a nice in between black and brown option.

Trench Coats
Last year, oversized blazers were the moment and this year, it’s the trench coat. Which I love because they’re another staple closet item that will never go out of style.
High end, I’m obsessed with my theory oakland trench and on the lower end, I just bought this one for under $100 and cannot say enough good things.
This one is next on my list. I just love how lightweight and effortless it looks.

Satin Dresses & Skirts
A lot of fall pieces are very masculine, which I love that satin is staying around for the fall. Satin has been having a moment these last few spring/summer seasons and I’ve seen a lot people pairing their satin items with sweaters.
This white one is on major sale for under $20 and I think I may have to snag it.

Color
Not a crazy amount though, don’t go overboard here. Just a pop here and there. Green, pink and blue primarily. This sweater from hm offers all of them. Maybe it’s the Baylor Bear in me but I’m loving green.

Square Neck & Sweet Heart Necklines
Instead of reaching a v-neck this season, choose a square neck or sweetheart cut instead.
I love this trench for all fall going out and date night looks! Both super flattering and feminine. A little sexy. They make the girls look good. I love.

Black Cat Eye Sunglasses
I’ve had my eye on this little pair from Target for awhile. I keep seeing them pop up on all the “must have” lists too.
Maybe the girl who only wears her aviators will actually try something new.

Black Mini Skirts
Love, Love Love this trend. Skorts work too. I find them so much more flattering than shorts and they fit perfectly into the 90’s minimalist aesthetic above.

Elouise at the Plaza
Anything and everything new york/parisian prep. Think Elouise at the Plaza meets Blair Waldorf. Pearls, Gold statement earrings, lace, ruffles, bows, tweed mini skirts…you know the vibe. There are parts about this trend that I both love and don’t love. I personally prefer my outfits to feel more effortless while this trend is meant to be very intentionally put together.
It’s a lot of layers and lot of tween… and Texas is too hot for that. So you’ll find me wearing a lot of bows in my hair, accessorizing with headbands, and wearing my favorite pearl stud earrings.
Shoe wise, you can’t go wrong with a classic black loafter or toe-tone kitten heel.

Bows, Headbands & Clips
It’s all about this simple hair accessories this fall.
&& ya’ll know I love a simple, black headband moment. The sleeked back, clean girl bun was big this summer and now it’s time to let your hair down.

Quarter Zip Sweaters
As compared to your basic crewneck pullovers. I know it sounds basic but I’m telling ya’ll, these quarter zip sweaters and pullovers are literally everywhere I look and honestly I’m here for it.
I really like the blue one below from J.Crew

Ok, hear me out. I never would have thought I’d go for this style shoe but I’ve tried on multiple pairs and love! Plus they are super comfortable. I pretty much only wear mine with straight leg jeans.
I have a pair identical to these and then I just ordered this pair!
